The Phoenix Foundation Buffalo Album Release Tour With their highly anticipated new studio album 'Buffalo' released on April 26, The Phoenix Foundation have announced an 8-show New Zealand album release tour in May. The 'Buffalo' album release tour will see The Phoenix Foundation performing two shows in Wellington at the San Francisco Bathhouse on 27 and 28 May 2010. Tickets are on sale now. The tour will support the eagerly awaited release of the bands fourth studio album ‘Buffalo’: ten beautiful new songs that find The Phoenix Foundation scaling new heights of maturity and imagination. Buffalo is the follow-up to the band’s 2007 gold album Happy Ending, which received huge critical acclaim in New Zealand and rave reviews in Britain after its release there late last year. Initially recorded at the band’s practice room The Wellington Car Club (which they somehow manage to share with a group of car enthusiasts!), Buffalo was eventually finished with producer Lee Prebble at The Surgery in Newtown, with the help of Brett Stanton. The new 10-track album is The Phoenix Foundation’s most collaborative and unique work thus far. A combination of the avant-garde experiments of earlier albums Pegasus and Horsepower and the kaleidoscopic pop of Happy Ending, Buffalo pushes boundaries in a way that marks a new chapter in the band’s development, and is irrefutable proof that they are creating the music of the present for the future. The Phoenix Foundation have released the brand new video clip for their first single and album title track ‘Buffalo’ (see below). Directed by Nathan Hickey, the video follows a young lad who discovers that, simply by holding his breath, he can transcend into an alternate reality. The boy pursues an ethereal post-grunge goddess to an underwater universe and a gravity-defying forest full of kindred souls. The clip is the perfect accompaniment to a song about a Buffalo rumbling his way across the floor of the great Pacific Ocean. Starring Daniel Harris and Rosie Herdman, it was filmed on Wellington’s South Coast and amongst the trees of the Wellington Town Belt. The Phoenix Foundation - Buffalo
