showcasing the very best in contemporary Maori, Pacific Island and New Zealand art. At Pataka
you’ll see work from leading local, national and international artists with a fantastic range of
heritage and social history exhibitions. All housed under one roof, with the Porirua City Library,
Melody Farm Music Museum, a traditional Japanese garden and Cafe Kaizen, a cultural oasis in Porirua City.
Melody Farm
Melody Farm is the greatest collection of its type in the country with
Aolian reed organs, Juke-boxes, a recording gramophone, player pianos, radios from the 30s, TVs from
the 60s and much more.
Central Library
Porirua Central Library is also part of Pataka. The library has a
huge wealth of information waiting to be discovered - local history files and photographs,
newspapers, magazines and over 140,000 books.
Cafe Kaizen
Quite simply, Cafe Kaizen has the best coffee in town. Set beside a
traditional Japanese garden, Kaizen is a friendly haven within Pataka serving culinary delights
throughout the day.

Pataka has a range of conference facilities catering for groups as
large as 120 and as small as 4. Pataka offers free parking, a range of catering options, digital
