When you visit GlenGary, the first thing you notice is the amazing views of Paremata and the
Pauatahanui Inlet.
Nestled beside the house is “GlenGary Cottage” which was craned onto the
site in 2001 especially for the growing business.
INSIDE THE COTTAGE SHOP YOU WILL FIND A
RANGE OF -decorated eggs, handcrafted cards and other items.
Several small gardens have been created at the entrance and around the cottage. Each garden has
a different colour theme and gives delight and pleasure especially as you search out the little
fairies hidden amongst the flowers and shrubs. Glenis won 3rd place in the 2007 TIDIEST GARDEN in
TITAHI BAY!
EggArt by GlenGary was originally started as a home based Egg Art and Craft Supplies mail order
business in 1999 (closed in 2008) by Glenis and Gary Thomas (passed away 2002), hence the name. The
Wellington Eggcrafters Club was formed as a direct result of the growing interest in this exquisite
craft and Glenis has been at the forefront of teaching and promoting eggshell artistry at the
Wellington Egg Artists Club, Workshops, Craft Shows and Exhibitions both locally and around New
Zealand. She was the National President of the Egg Artistry Guild of New Zealand for 5 years during
which she produced a quarterly Guild Magazine on Egg Art in New Zealand.
Glenis and her work
have featured twice on TV ONE's Good Morning Show, New Zealand's National Radio programmes and in
many newspapers around the country.
The International Egg Artistry Guild has featured Glenis's
work in several international magazine issues.
She made it into the finals of the
international Forbes Faberge Style Egg competition with her Imperial Red Egg.
Glenis made the beautiful Faberge style ring egg, White Roses, for Yulia (the Russian born
singer) and Glyn McLean's wedding in February 2008. You can see this egg in the panorama above.
Glenis is one of the 20 Artists of Titahi Bay whose work was on exhibition on at Pataka, Porirua
City during March- April 2010.
Glenis is still available for commission work. Have your own Faberge style egg made for you or a
loved one. The items used to decorate the eggs have been carefully selected from around the world to
provide high quality egg art. These include fine braids, cords and ribbons, Swarovski crystals, 24
ct gold plated filigrees and egg stands.
